The Distressed Hospital Small Grant Program offers $25 million in funding to not-for-profit and public hospitals in California facing immediate and extreme financial distress. Eligible hospitals may apply for cashflow grants intended to help maintain operational continuity and prevent closure. Applications must demonstrate financial need and detail plans for regaining financial viability.
Must be a not-for-profit hospital or public hospital with less than 10 days’ cash on hand, more than 50% government payor and uninsured payer mix, and must show best efforts to exhaust other financial options.
