Colorado RHTP activity focused on rural workforce training recruitment and retention, including reduced barriers such as housing childcare and transportation.
Eligibility
Eligible lead applicants are Qualified Rural Health Care Providers, including Critical Access Hospitals (CAHs), Rural Emergency Hospitals (REHs), Rural Prospective Payment System (PPS) Hospitals, Sole Community Hospitals, Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs), FQHC Look-Alikes, Rural Health Clinics (RHCs), Community Mental Health Centers (CMHCs), Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinics (CCBHCs), Opioid Treatment Programs (OTPs), private physician or non-physician practitioner groups, and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) organizations. Partners in collaborative or third-party applications may include nonprofits, public health agencies, community-based organizations, academic and workforce partners, technology vendors, long-term care facilities, school-based health centers, and other providers. Collaborations require a Letter of Attestation designating the Lead Applicant Organization.

Requirements Checklist
Applicants must propose activities to recruit, train, strengthen, or retain rural healthcare workers. Projects should directly address barriers to workforce recruitment, well-being, and retention, such as housing, childcare, and transportation. Proposals must include a five-year program narrative and annual budget, demonstrate alignment with the Rural Health Transformation Program's aims to improve equity, access, and outcomes for rural populations, and adhere to RHTP guidance on eligible activities and expenses.
