The Wyoming Federal RHTP Award (FY2026–FY2030) is a cooperative agreement funded by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), authorized under Section 71401 of the Big Beautiful Bill Act of 2025. Wyoming is awarded $205,004,742.95 for the first funding period (Dec 2025–Oct 2026) as part of the $10 billion annual nationwide RHTP to improve rural healthcare access, workforce, sustainability, and innovation. State initiatives commonly include expanded telehealth, workforce development and retention, new care models for maternal and chronic conditions, and bolstering rural hospital stability. Future years’ funding is contingent on annual performance and compliance with program terms.
Eligible applicants are the Wyoming Department of Health or its designated state agency for rural health transformation. Sub-awards may be available to rural healthcare providers, critical access hospitals, rural health clinics, and other organizations participating in the state’s rural health initiatives in accordance with program goals.
Applications are submitted via the CMS Office of Acquisitions and Grants Management’s online grants portal, as outlined in the program’s Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO).
