State Loan Repayment Program (SLRP)

Summary

This program addresses rural provider shortages and supports access to care for underserved populations in West Virginia. The current opportunity allows eligible facilities to apply for grants to help repay the educational loans of employed health professionals, provided they meet service obligation requirements and serve in designated HPSAs. All applicants must be non-profit organizations or facilities located in HPSAs and able to document employment and qualifying debt of eligible professionals.

Requirements Checklist

• Applicants must submit through the WVOASIS Vendor Self Services (VSS) Portal and via centralized email. Required documents include: employment contract, detailed budget and budget narrative, Subrecipient Information Form (A-1000), grantee contact list, and proof of registrations with SAM.gov and West Virginia Secretary of State. Facilities must ensure awarded medical professionals are employed full-time, that SLRP funds are used for educational loan repayment, and provide six-month performance and financial reports. Additional compliance with DHHR, federal, and state regulations as outlined in the AFA documentation is mandatory.
