The Ohio Department of Health, Bureau of Maternal, Child, & Family Health announces the availability of grant funds to support local or public non-profit healthcare agencies in planning, establishing, expanding, or sustaining school-based health centers (SBHCs) located in eligible rural Ohio counties for Fiscal Years 2027–2028. Funding is available for (1) planning for a new SBHC in or near a school where one does not currently operate, (2) start-up of new SBHCs, and (3) expansion or sustainability of existing SBHCs. Agencies must provide a draft and final SBHC business plan, engage local advisory committees, and report quarterly data. Proposals are due July 20, 2026 by 4:00 PM ET via the ODH GMIS portal.
Eligible applicants are local or public non-profit healthcare agencies seeking to establish, expand, or sustain a school-based health center (SBHC) located in, and serving students from, the following eligible rural Ohio counties: Adams, Allen, Ashland, Ashtabula, Athens, Auglaize, Belmont, Brown, Carroll, Champaign, Clark, Clinton, Columbiana, Coshocton, Crawford, Darke, Defiance, Erie, Fairfield, Fayette, Fulton, Gallia, Geauga, Greene, Guernsey, Hancock, Hardin, Harrison, Henry, Highland, Hocking, Holmes, Huron, Jackson, Jefferson, Knox, Lawrence, Licking, Logan, Madison, Marion, Medina, Meigs, Mercer, Miami, Monroe, Morgan, Morrow, Muskingum, Noble, Ottawa, Paulding, Perry, Pickaway, Pike, Preble, Putnam, Richland, Ross, Sandusky, Scioto, Seneca, Shelby, Tuscarawas, Union, Van Wert, Vinton, Warren, Washington, Wayne, Williams, Wyandot.
