The South Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (SCDHHS) is accepting applications for the FY2026 RHTP: Shoring Up to Sustainability Initiative. Funded with $40,000,000 from a federal cooperative agreement, the initiative supports rural-serving healthcare providers and organizations through three project tracks: facility infrastructure enhancements, masterclass workforce training, and healthcare workforce recruitment/retention incentives. Eligible applicants must serve rural communities in South Carolina and be one of the following: rural-serving healthcare providers (hospitals, clinics, FQHCs, EMS providers, pharmacies), community-based organizations, local government entities, public health agencies, nonprofit organizations focused on rural health, educational institutions engaged in healthcare workforce development, professional associations and licensing boards supporting healthcare training/certification, or consortia/collaboratives with South Carolina-based partners to strengthen rural healthcare infrastructure and workforce capacity.
