This RFA, part of Nevada's Rural Health Transformation Program, supports apprenticeship and training pathways to increase rural healthcare workforce capacity, focusing on specialty and subspecialty provider recruitment and retention for rural, frontier, and tribal Nevada. Tiered funding is available for small to regional projects targeting provider shortages, with priority to proposals benefitting rural and frontier health infrastructure.
Eligibility
Eligible applicants include rural hospitals, critical access hospitals, Tribal Health Clinics, and other organizations serving rural or underserved Nevada communities. Non-rural and out-of-state entities must demonstrate direct impact for rural Nevada and provide letters of support from local or tribal health officials or rural providers.

Eligible applicants are universities, community colleges, rural hospitals, certified community behavioral health centers, federally-qualified health centers, tribal health clinics, primary care providers (including dentists), behavioral health providers, emergency medical services, paraprofessionals, school health services programs, school-based health centers, other health clinics, and other healthcare providers operating in Nevada’s rural counties, and organizations operating training programs or formalized partnerships with rural providers. Non-profit, governmental, and for-profit health care organizations, and some non-rural or out-of-state entities partnering to serve rural Nevada are also eligible.
Organizations including universities, community colleges, rural hospitals, FQHCs, behavioral health providers, EMS, paraprofessionals, school health programs, tribal health clinics, and other healthcare providers in rural Nevada. Non-profit, governmental, and for-profit organizations are eligible. Out-of-state and non-rural entities require strong rural partnerships.
Applicants must be health providers serving rural Nevadans or organizations partnered with such providers. If receiving over $1,000,000 in annual federal funding, last Single Audit is required.
