The Nevada Rural Health System Flex Fund (BP1, Round 1) offers up to $35,986,322 in subawards for projects that modernize, enhance, and expand rural health care infrastructure statewide, including technology, equipment, mobile health units, EMS, renovations/alterations, remote care solutions, and workforce initiatives. Eligible projects address critical gaps and strengthen access and quality for rural, frontier, and tribal populations. Awards are competitive and prioritize measurable outcomes, collaboration, sustainability, and embedded rural partnerships. Infrastructure improvements, capital expenditures, and administrative costs are allowed (admin max 10% of budget; no construction, broadband or indirect costs). Applicants must be Nevada-registered vendors and either serve rural Nevadans directly or demonstrate documented partnerships with rural health providers.
Eligible applicants are health care providers and entities currently serving rural Nevadans, or organizations with documented partnerships (Memorandum of Understanding or Letters of Commitment) with rural health providers. Rural hospitals (including CAHs), clinics, EMS, FQHCs, CCBHCs, school-based health centers, tribal organizations, county/local governments, universities, and vendors registered with the State of Nevada may apply. Non-rural entities must provide signed MOUs/letters of commitment from rural partners; applicants must not be suspended/debarred and must be in good standing with the State of Nevada and federal government. If requesting >$1M in federal funds annually, applicants must submit their most recent Single Audit. All applicants must obtain a State Vendor Identification Number prior to funding.
