Mississippi Rural Health Transformation Program (MSRHTP)
The BRIDGE Initiative is Mississippi’s effort to strengthen the physical, operational, and programmatic infrastructure that rural residents and providers need. The Initiative focuses on expanding access to critical and specialized healthcare services, closing care gaps, and supporting innovative pilot programs across rural Mississippi. Targeted investments are expected to include psychiatric emergency services, infrastructure upgrades, and pilot programs that address key rural challenges such as autism, care coordination, and behavioral health. The project is supported by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) as part of a financial assistance award totaling $205,990,180.16.
