This competitive grant, administered by the Indiana Department of Health under the Rural Health Transformation Program, provides up to $300,000 in incentives for eligible Indiana-licensed physicians (MD/DO) who commit to full-time clinical practice at a HRSA-designated rural site for a 5-year period. Funds are awarded to the employer for distribution to the physician, with annual reporting required regarding disbursement, employment, and program compliance. The program addresses critical rural workforce shortages statewide; awards are made each year of RHTP funding.
Applicants must be Indiana-licensed MD or DO physicians in good standing, with an unrestricted active license, and board-eligible or board-certified in family medicine, internal medicine, pediatrics, general surgery, anesthesiology, psychiatry, or a specialty with documented regional need. Applicants must be eligible to work in the US (including J1/H1B, if applicable) and agree to a 5-year, full-time service commitment to clinical practice at a HRSA-designated rural site.
