Health Professionals Loan Repayment Program

Summary

The program repays student loan debt for professionals who commit to providing direct patient care in ambulatory outpatient settings, with award amounts up to $50,000 for an initial two-year commitment. All Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) are eligible sites, and continuation funding may be available after the initial service term.

Eligibility

Medical, dental, and mental health professionals with an approved and active license (or pending license status as of the submission deadline) who provide direct patient care at eligible sites in designated Health Professional Shortage Areas.

Requirements Checklist

• Must have an approved and active license or pending license status at the time of application deadline.
• Employer must describe facility need, verify working hours, and confirm that at least 80% of time is direct patient care.
