Funds statewide EMS trauma and stroke coordination expansion to improve emergency routing, response capacity, and rural patient outcomes in Alabama. Supports practical, scalable strategies for initiation and expansion of hospital-referral services, protocol implementation, training, care coordination, and operational support.
Eligible applicants include EMS agencies or other qualified entities with experience coordinating multi-partner EMS and hospital networks capable of carrying out eligible Statewide EMS Trauma and Stroke Initiative projects. Applicants must have a valid Unique Entity Identifier (UEI), maintain an active SAM.gov registration, and demonstrate capacity for system development, protocol implementation, training, care coordination, and operational support. Applicants do not need to be physically located in a rural area, but must clearly demonstrate benefit to rural Alabama communities.
