Supports practical, scalable strategies that strengthen maternal healthcare delivery systems across rural Alabama through the establishment and enhancement of regional maternal and fetal referral hubs, expansion of telerobotic ultrasound capacity, and facility readiness upgrades to improve access and outcomes for expectant mothers and infants.
Eligible applicants include hospitals, critical access hospitals, rural emergency hospitals, rural health clinics, federally qualified health centers, health systems, and healthcare organizations capable of carrying out a Maternal and Fetal Health Initiative project and complying with all applicable award requirements. Applicants do not need to be physically located in a rural area but must demonstrate that the project is designed to benefit rural Alabama communities, expectant mothers, infants, healthcare providers, or facilities in regional referral networks.
