The program aims to expand opportunities for recruiting, training, and retaining a local and diverse workforce, align workforce and economic development strategies, build talent pipelines, and promote sector-based partnerships. Special priority is given to projects serving regional needs and demonstrating economic impact in distressed Alabama counties.
Eligible applicants include organizations located in and serving the 20 DRA-designated distressed counties in Alabama: Barbour, Bullock, Butler, Choctaw, Clarke, Conecuh, Dallas, Escambia, Greene, Hale, Lowndes, Macon, Marengo, Monroe, Perry, Pickens, Russell, Sumter, Washington, and Wilcox.
