How to Use the RHTP Events Page

Updated June 14, 2026

The Rural Care Journey Events page (/events) aggregates RHTP-related events across all 50 states — town halls, webinars, office hours, trainings, Q&A sessions, conferences, workshops, and recorded sessions. Events are extracted automatically from state program pages and updated daily, so you get a single feed instead of monitoring dozens of agency calendars.

What Types of Events Are Tracked

Town HallOpen public sessions hosted by state Medicaid agencies or RHTP program offices
WebinarOnline presentations on RHTP program priorities, procurement, and implementation updates
Office HoursDrop-in Q&A sessions for applicants and vendors — typically held during active RFA/RFP cycles
TrainingStructured training sessions on grant compliance, reporting requirements, and program tools
Q&A SessionFormal pre-proposal question periods associated with an open procurement
ConferenceMulti-session events bringing together state program staff, applicants, and vendors
WorkshopHands-on working sessions for grantees or implementation partners
AnnouncementProgram announcements that have a specific date — award announcements, phase transitions
RecordingArchived recordings of past events, including state-published video media

Finding Events: Status Filter

The status filter at the top of the page is the fastest way to narrow what you see. Use it to jump directly to the events most relevant to where you are in your work.

  • Upcoming — events scheduled in the future, including ones opening for registration today.
  • Today — events happening right now or on the current calendar day.
  • Recording — past events where a recording link is available. Use this to catch sessions you missed.
  • Past — completed events without a recording. Useful for tracking what state agencies have recently communicated.
  • Cancelled — events that were scheduled and then cancelled by the host agency.

Filtering by Type and State

Below the status filter, type and state filters let you narrow to exactly what you need. The type filter surfaces only the event format you care about — for example, filter to Office Hours during an active RFA period to find sessions where state staff answer applicant questions directly. The state filter limits the feed to a specific state's events, which is most useful when you are tracking a single state's RHTP program.

All three filters work together: you can show Upcoming Webinars in Colorado in a single click. Use Clear all filters to reset to the full feed.

Using the Search Bar

The search bar runs across event titles, host agency names, descriptions, and topic tags. It is best used when you are looking for something specific — a named program, a topic keyword like 'telehealth' or 'behavioral health', or a specific agency. For broad discovery, the filters give more structured results.

Opening an Event

Click any event card to expand it. The expanded view shows the full description, date and time (in the event's local timezone), host agency, topic tags, audience, and any available action links:

  • Register — opens the registration or meeting link for upcoming events.
  • Watch recording — opens or embeds the recording directly in the page for YouTube and Vimeo links, or downloads the file for video file links.
  • Slides / Materials — previews or downloads the presentation deck or supporting document.
  • Source document — links to the original source page where the event was discovered.

Watching Recordings In-Page

YouTube and Vimeo recordings open in an embedded player directly on the Events page — you do not need to leave to watch them. State-published video files (MP4, MOV) also play in an in-page video player. If the recording is a presentation deck or PDF, it opens in a document preview modal. Only direct file links that cannot be embedded open in a new tab.

Submitting an Event

If you know of an RHTP-related event that is not yet listed — a state office hours session, a newly announced webinar, or a recording posted to a state agency page — you can submit it for review. Signed-in members see a 'Submit your event' button at the top of the page. Provide the event URL and a short description of what it is and when it takes place. Submissions are reviewed by the Rural Care Journey team before publishing.

Why Events Matter for Applicants and Vendors

  • Office hours sessions during an open RFA are the fastest way to get questions answered by state program staff before you submit.
  • Town halls often preview upcoming procurement priorities — attending or watching recordings can give you several months of lead time before an RFA is published.
  • Webinar recordings include slide decks that frequently contain scoring rubrics, eligibility criteria, and budget guidance not published elsewhere.
  • Q&A sessions generate formal written responses from state agencies — these become part of the official procurement record and answer questions every applicant has.

Track Events Alongside Opportunities

Browse the Opportunities page alongside Events — office hours sessions are often tied to specific open RFAs, and attending them can directly improve your proposal.
